Good morning friends, This morning I was finishing up cleaning the front of the commercial building where I work at when I noticed a bill that was folded near my entrance.. I picked it up and to my amazement it was a $100.00 bill What a neat way to end 2022 with such a great FOG - Found On Ground
Awesome find @paddyman98 My wife used to find banknotes a few years ago. I thought she was pulling my leg until I saw her pick up a $5 up on our walk. Then she spotted & recovered a $10 during our stay in Ottawa. (It became this amusing competition where we would both race towards some blue candy wrapper/or such thing) On the same trip (about 7 years ago) I found a $20, but that was the last time I found any cash like that.
That SN has two 2s, two 4s, and two 6s. If you add those up, it comes to 24. 24 is the number smack in the middle of the SN. How many times do you see that?
I used to find banknotes regularly but nothing lately. Coin finds are not so plentiful either. This may be due to people not carrying so much cash now
Just a word of caution on lucky finds of paper currency on the ground. A few months ago I found a folded one dollar bill in a parking lot, and when I unfolded it, there was some kind of white powder substance. For all I know, it could have been fentanyl, which can be can be deadly- even from an unintentional exposure. Scary. Great find of the C- note by the way
I lived in Manhattan NY from 1979 until 2006. During that time I found a total of $1763 in US paper currency on the ground/ sidewalks streets subway platform etc. Yes I used to keep track, I had kept it in an envelope and it was spent as part of the moving money when I moved out. Nothing special just US cash with some neat pickup memories. If you train yourself to look you will find it and it is just the most amazing thing to see when you do, the incongruity of it just laying on the ground like garbage.
