this is a 1891 Morgan coin in a johnson&johnson "thingy". its a hard plastic and my father has had it for years and im not sure of anything about it. any info would be great!
That's not a Barber coin, it's a Morgan dollar. Until you get it out of that mold without damaging it (I suggest leaving it in there for now though), it's worth melt value, around $25 or so since it's 90% silver.
As I wrote on your other post on this item, it was heavily polished before being encased in lucite. It's only worth melt. Trying to get it out of the lucite will probably damage it more. Probably best to leave it as is. it'll make a great conversation piece. Many years ago, I worked for a company that (still) makes awards and medals. This was one example of the things that they would embed in lucite blocks. They put coins and medals of all kinds in the blocks. They also put paper money in the blocks. What looks like strapped packs of cash is actually plain paper with a one note on each face of the pack. One post is enough. It might take some time to get answers to your question, but more than one post will not make things go faster for you.
