Hello everyone, I have a hard time it seems grading Buffalo Nickels. I was wondering if I could get some of your imput on these two coins gradewise, one is a 1924-D & the other is a 1925-D. I had to scan them right now because my camera took a turn for the worst over the holiday. The 1925-D has a nice bit of luster on it still. Thanks for any help.
The 24 Buff has a grade of VF20 with maybe a NET F15 becasue of the rim damage--IMHO....the 25 Buff I would say would grade VF25 with maybe a XF but the coin would have to be in hand to see if it is a weak strike. Speedy
I also have another 1924-D , I should have posted it instead . I forgot all about the rim damage on the 1st one. Here is the other, could you please give me your opinions on this one too. Thanks-
Nice Buff's---That is the set I'm kindof working on right now....I've been buying 1926-S's right now....have gotten a few upgraded from F to VF. That being said...I think this one would grade VF25. OldDan is the expert with Buff Nickels....maybe he will stop by and tell us what he would grade these. Speedy
moderate wear on hair and cheek, feathers sharp but worn, (reverse) bison's head, legs, and hip are worn, horn sharp but worn, full tail shows. I would say vf-30 on your 1924-d value $75 to 85.00.
