I'm no Morgan guru. There's a "line" that runs around almost the entire edge of the reverse. Please see picture. Is this a die crack or ??? Does this reduce the value of the coin? Is it common? Comments/thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes it's a die crack, they are very common in that location. I don't think it lowers the value on that coin at all.

I love die cracks and breaks. I think it gives the coin a lot of character. And it helps a lot with identifying varieties.

That looks like a nice Morgan. You should show us the obverse.

Yes, that is a die crack. It is very common on Morgan Dollars. Die cracks are one way to attribute VAMs (die pairings of Morgan and Peace Dollars).

Doesn't really reduce the value (depends on the collector that is buying) but also doesn't necessarily increase the value either (also depends on the collector buying).

Die cracks are personal likes/dislikes (I like them).
Same as rainbow toning (I don't like it).

As for value, they should make almost no difference, plus or minus.

Agree. It's a die crack. Common but the coin is dripping with luster, which IMO makes it a nice Morgan with a die crack :)
