    Ok, here is another one that I cant identify. Seems I recall seeing something similar in a thread in here but I couldnt find it again. Any help on this one?

    That dime looks like it was caught in machinery for a while. The radial scratches indicate it was rolling around between metal parts. You might be thinking about the commercial washing machine coins thread.

    it also looks like a smaller planchet...
    the 4 is off the coin a little bit.

    The dense pattern of scratches on both faces indicates alteration after the strike.

    I'll also go with the washing machine/post mint damage theory.The edges are spooned which is the reason for the numbers hitting the edges,magman..

    dang. laundering money.... Thanks for the input fellow CTer's... in a 2x2 it goes to be looked at again in 20 years.

    I had one that was stolen at a coin show from me,but have you ever seen one with the designers initials on the date?I call myself having It graded and after two months It was return with a labled as being "enviromental Damage".The couldn`t even tell me of the substance on the coin was used at the mint seeing how clean and shiny It was when I first found It.After calling about the coin I was asked what would,could I do.*wg*.I had paid for a three day service!You say an exspert?
