    Hey Guys,

I have been developing various auto-generated displays for viewing coin images.
The carousel struggles a little with a large amount.

    What do you think?
I am curious how quickly these load for you and if you like the displays.
    Any feedback is appreciated.

Some of my toned U.S. Nickels:

Some of my toned U.S. Dimes:

They loaded fine for me, and are definately a neat archival tool. Even the carosel worked. Definately a cool concept.

Thanks for looking and reporting, bhaugh. I think the next step is to add zooming features. Im on it!

Worked for me too. I like the first two styles, but not the carousel. I do LOVE your coins, especially the dimes!

They all work. Don't know if you notice but the side tabs do block out a part of the coin though.

Everything loads immediately for me - no wait at all. And the sliders & carousels worked fine. I'm impressed - nice job!

Thank you guys! I am hoping some folks from other countries give it a try. I am using a CDN (content delivery network), and hopefully it will be equally as fast for others across the pond.

Everything worked for me as well. The carousel works, but the image format is hurting you. Try using transparent .png files so that you don't have the white borders. That should help make the coins "float" and resolve the overlapping issue. You could also throw in some java so that the images slowly rotate on their own, then stop and zoom with mouse over. Just some friendly suggestions.

All in all, everything looks nice, good job! I will say that at the moment, I prefer the "wall" style just for simplicity and ease of use.

Good suggestions rlspears10, although I am dumping the carousel, because really, most albums will have quite a bit of coins in it, so the carousel doesn't lend itself to large amounts. Also, like you said, the backgrounds on the images tend to interfere with the concept.

I agree transparent png's would be nice...I cannot use them though, simply for bandwidth issues. There are 10's of thousands of images, with more everyday, and due to the file size difference between the jpg and the transparent png, it would kill me in bandwidth costs. Not to mention, most users wouldn't even be creating transparent pngs to begin with.
The web-friendly,various size jpgs are created on image upload, and the galleries are generated dynamically. In fact, I need to really only transfer the images that can be seen on a users screen and use a paging system.

Good to know! The slider is touch enabled and should run quite nice on most mobile phones. Thank you for trying it out.

Ahh, I did not realize that. I thought you were simply making a display for YOUR coins. I can only imagine the bandwidth that would be eaten by users uploading all of their coins as well.

Yeah, I failed to mention that. :)
If it was just a personal thing, then you are absolutely correct and I would do the transparent, etc..
Instead, I have to try and accommodate the various scenarios because they are dynamic.

I have faith in anything that you execute.

    Salutations.

Postscript: I don't attempt to offend with the following...but are you Scorpio?

lol, why yes I am. What gave it away?

Probably nothing in particular gave it away; otherwise, with proper recognition, I wouldn't have doubted. Thanks for responding.

I am making the same suggestion, make these transparent so you don't see the white background.

I'm against the Java idea though, perhaps javascript but Java would only slow it down and or not be compatible to people who don't have it loaded for their browsers or disable it.

I am not sure how to take that. Is being paranoid a sign of scorpio?

I appropriately answered that probably nothing in particular gave it away; in a contrary development, with proper recognition from my part, I wouldn't have confounded myself with an incorrect distinction. You later ask about a possible, particular sign of Scorpio. The reality is that a significant portion of Occidental astrology is dead. Numerous things helped to kill it, but the separation from astronomy was the most decisive aspect. (The minor parts that are still valuable, can now be somewhat unrecognized practically because several humans no longer have the time, space, and mental flexibility to calculate [using exact numbers] an immense quantity of things.)
Back in the epoch, when propagation of naturalness of the species was something highly respected and permitted in the grand majority of the world's regions, there existed humans that were too ambitious for domination. (During those days, land and animals were extremely valuable possessions.) However, they still had an admirable mentality to develop precise equations for strategical systems that would help to acquire an "advantage" for the execution of something. The formulas were very meticulous, to the point where a solar sign became something irrelevant...because they effectively demonstrated that one should separate primarily by day and month of birth. (Some of these separations, for example, were making January 23 and May 16 [both in the Gregorian calendar] completely interchangeable.)
It's okay...there were also some creatures that quickly recognized that they needed to alleviate and deviate some of the pressure. They created numerology, alongside all the interpretations and equations for it. (In conjunction with Mayan astrology, and excluding today's massive dominion in neurology, numerology is one of the most useful fields for our ratiocination in general.) These creations were setting physical standards for the people that never had the natural capability to recognize sensations and/or visions that were connected to other dimension(s). (The fields were becoming famous, partly because they were helping to win confrontations and to establish some degree of tranquility.)
The majority of recent publications in Occidental astrology is garbage. The works that extend themselves to cover some "obsolete" parts of it, are usually worth their retail price. Before buying something, though, I consistently observe and attempt to recognize if it is separating days and months (of a same solar sign) in various ways.
