Of course, there are lots of incredible coin collections described at NGC & PCGS. This incredible collection of standing liberty quarters will be auctioned at the Stacks & Bowers auction in Philadelphia. The title is Standing Liberty FH Quarters with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1916-1930). It is the number one finest set of all time & the collection is called - Just having fun! http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=4623 Check it out.
I enjoyed looking at the photos & wondering what it must be like to assemble a collection like that. Words like nirvana, paradise, and heaven come to mind. Here are a couple of my standing liberty quarters with full head. My common dates pale in comparison to the “just having fun” collection. I hope everyone clicks the link http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=4623 to see the top-pop FH collection.
Thanks for posting Collect89. That collection is absolutely stunning! If I had the kind of scratch it takes to put together a collection of that caliber I'd be "just having fun" as well.
WOW that 31 is sharp. I've got a beautifully toned 1929 SLQ but it came back from PCGS as Genuine (suface damage).
Here is one that I recently sold: http://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/46407/1920-Standing-Liberty-Quarter-NGC-MS-64-FH I picked it up raw, the dealer thought it "might" 66, it was so nice in his opinion.
Sure is... found out about this particular overstrike on this thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t204044/
