That is Kaaterskill falls in upstate New York. If you climb up to the first tier, your can actually walk behind the falls. They have the trail blocked off stating not to climb it, but that is just a suggestion. Mike
Apparently my wife entered my Eiffel Tower photo into a local art contest now... On another note perhaps we could start a photography thread in the general discussion forum so that people can post more photos since this seems to be a popular topic for alot of us?
This contest was a real eye opener, I had no idea so many coin folks enjoyed photography also. There must be some sort of link there. Mike
Thanks! I read the post incorrectly, wrong person, sorry! That spot might make my ongoing list of places to visit. I'm always looking..
And now... Here are the winners! First Place: Exchequer - Joshua Tree (Post number 116) What's not to like about this photo? The colors, the stars, little bit of light on the left side of the tree, etc. Great photo! Second Place: Kasia - Mountain goats in Glacier National Park (Post number 41) What a happy picture. (It doesn't hurt that I live in Montana, go to Glacier pretty much every summer and I've never got that close to a goat and her kid. Good job!) Third Place: Erazz - Fly Fishing (Post number 142) I mostly like the story behind this photo, but the photo itself isn't hard on the eyes either. Thank you to everyone who participated. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the photos, hearing the stories behind them, and getting to know you all. If one of the mods can edit my post to insert the photos, or insert them into a new post, that would be great! To Exchequer, Kasia and Erazz: Please pm me your mailing addresses!
Thank you Blaubart for holding this contest. It was great to see all the photos people took. There were so many really wonderful photographs here. And thank you for picking mine in the top three. I know that the competition was fierce and it couldn't have been easy, even to narrow it down. Thank you all for posting the photographs. I really enjoyed seeing these. There are many fine photographers who really go out of the way to get great shots.
Wow, I am honored and flattered! This is my first win with anything photographic, so thanks Blaubert for that distinction. I will always remember it! Thank you for putting on this contest...what a great idea; lots of photographers here and some beautiful shots were posted. I really enjoyed the contest!
Congrats to not only the winners, but the participants as well. What a wonderful display of photos and art!!
