I plan on giving it to my children, or willing it to them when I pass.

Hopefully those children will have enough sense not to sell it.

Then their children will receive it.

Be kinda cool to keep a collection in the family for 100 years or more.

Our family collection goes back at least 120 years, I will not be the one to break that chain.

My son is eleven now and has a great eye for grading so he buys high quality raw coins at a great price. I am one proud daddy at coin shows. He surprises dealers with the way he hunts.

My collection is already part of my kids' trust.

I have no idea. If I still have them when it's my time to go, then probably it's up to my kids and not me as to what will happen to them.

He'll probably just sell it to buy a new glass eye. Or marble in this case, maybe a button? Whatever Mr. Hoppers wants.

I think I am going to sell all of mine and "invest" in Beanie Babies! I hear they are making a comeback!

Yes, he's my step son. He was stepped on, that's how he lost his eye.

With the currency collection portion of the trust, I gave each of my two children the right of first refusal, with the hope that one of them would be interested enough to continue on.

Depends on how wealthy (or broke) I am when that time comes. Most likely, I will sell my collections if I ever decide that I could use the money for something that I find more enjoyable at the time.

One idea that I always thought would be fun would be to mix my collection into a bag of circulating change and deposit it in a bank, or spend the coins when buying things as I travel around the country. It would be a good feeling to know that I made a bunch of roll searcher's days with some unbelievable finds. Of course, this would only be an option if I somehow became significantly wealthy by that time. And, I would also have to be comfortable subjecting the coins to some additional circulation damage, which I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to do (would seem a bit irresponsible from a historical preservation perspective).

I have finally found my way out of the rotten years since I lost my pension. It's now time to see an estate planner and I'm intrigued with the trust concept. I have been giving some of my better pieces to my married daughter on special occasions. Hopefully to ignite their interest in the hobby while giving them a little security. A bullion legacy is way too cool. Thanks for the trust idea.

I'm planning on using my coins to finance a small invasion force of 10-12 army guys to stop counterfeit coins from entering the market from China.

    or maybe not..

mrbrklyn, I think we're delusional for lack of sleep. My wife says I spend too much time with my imaginary friends and I'm beginning to believe her.

Are you sure your wife is real? Or are we talking about Morans?
