I found this in change the other day, and was very excited to see a 70 year old merc still in circulation! I noticed a depression in the metal under part of the date and raised metal on the edges of the depression. Could this be some kind of mint error? Thanks for any info
Welcome to coin talk. It's a Winged Liberty Dime. It looks to me like circulation damage. The real pros will see this soon and tell you for sure, though.
