I submit a 1991 DDO Lincoln. The notching on the bottom of the first 9 is obvious, the second 9 has some issues. At first I thought it took a hit - but as I go blind looking at it I think it happened when struck. It does, I think, appear doubled but part of the die may have extra metal on it thus deepening part of the number. Next there appears to be a couple of die chips between G and the top of the ear. Also to the right of the ear looks strange. There appears also to be a die crack from the top of the ear towards the top of the head. Lastly the EPU and dots on the reverse seem enlarged. That's what I've got, any ideas? Thanks: Lou
The first 9 shows no notching, just a contact mark in the middle of the bottom of it. That’s not how notching would appear. The second 9 has a die chip on it. The top-left bit looks like a die chip. I think the other anomalies on Lincoln’s head are from plate bubbling and/or zinc rot. The reverse looks perfectly normal, with a touch of grease in the die when it struck. Just my opinion, but I’d spend this one.
