On the 1983 DDR it is easy to tell that there is Doubleing. You can almost see it without a loupe. The legends look blurry. if you are not sure weather your Cent it an 83 DDR then look at the words "ONE CENT" it should be clearly doubled and the words "E Pluribus Unim" should also be clearly doubled. If you are not sure about the doubling then it is probably machine doubling. The 1983 DDR is very easy to distinguish from a regular 83 Cent.
That is true of the major DDR ( CONECA 1-R-IV)(FS-01-1983-801), but not the lesser one , DDR ( CDDR-002) which has doubling in the area he indicated ( UNITED), but his is not that one.
It could possibly be a deteriorated die. I expect to see a bit more doubling on an 83 when it's MD. Regardless, no joy on that one. Keep looking ! gary
thanks a bunch. i always thought that if it was not listed not to worry about. but then i found what i have been told by some of you fine folk is unlisted kennedy falf ddo so now anything i find that looks funny i have to ask. i appreciate the help
Post the Kennedy half please. I want to see it. Also I have an 83 DDR that might be good, I'll post it today.
You can also see clear doubling to the south west on the words ONE CENT. What do you guys think? BTW. That's a cool Kennedy. I'll Post a picture of a 1974 Double Die Obverse AKA Double Trust (becuase the word TRUST is where the most prominant double is)
