This coin looks like a Julian II Ric 204, but it is made of copper with silver plate
    cu 98%
    AG 2%
    according to XRF
    3.5 grams
    21.5 mm
Are Silvered coins common during this era, or would you think this is an older Replica WIN_20230102_12_54_34_Pro.jpg WIN_20230102_12_54_42_Pro.jpg

What does the edge look like? Is there a casting seam?

There is no obvious seam. Here are the best pics I can take WIN_20230102_14_15_00_Pro.jpg WIN_20230102_14_15_59_Pro.jpg

I am not aware of 2% silvered coins at that era. Not an expert but own many of his coins since I named my son after him and buy them for my son. I own silver Julian coins, and they all appear to be of good silver, but I do not own a XRF.

IMHO, cast with seam chased and silver plated. I would like to have a miliarense of Julian one day....
