Good afternoon everyone, As I told some of you we are holding a collectors show here in Iceland and the first show in 15 years. One of my coins the 2 Pence 100 Kronur error was used in one of the larger newspaper here in Iceland to tell about the show and what you could see. I know your not going to understand this but here it can be seen The article is quite intersting as they use the coin as a metafore for what would happen if Iceland used another currency. Siggi
Congratulations, SiggI! I hope the show is a great success. Out of curiosity, is that a photo of you on the lower right? Chris
Thanks everyone, Nope that´s not me I´ll add some photos after the weekend and show you around the show
This is the article in a nutshell I left the part on were he is descriping how the errro was made. God I hate google translate it makes my languege sound like we are all retarted. Now this is after I fixed it The only known spcimen of a cross-breed betwen the Icelandic krona and English coin in the world will be on display at the Icelandic Coin accosiation collectors show this weekend. This special coin may not be a feast for the eye but rare and unusual it is in every way. The debate about Icelandtaking up other countries currency, whether it is the Canadian dollar,Norwegian krone or euro, now or the krona be directly related with foreign a foreign currency, has never been focused on the look of the coin to be. But what if the Icelandic krona was literally "Fused together", so to say,to another currency. A rare coincidence is found in this coin that could indicate how such Fusing or a"hybrid" would look like. This type of error is extremely rare and very saught after by the world coin collectors. This is the only Icelandic coin known to have this error. It is safe to say that the coin has an unique appearance.
i know a LOT of people who speak english (and only english) that sound more retarded than google translate!
All my best to you and the success of the show. It should go a long ways towards reviving the collecting spirit in Iceland. Very nice to see one of your special coins featured in the article...you must be very proud. Looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing the great stories Siggi. Bruce
