The first arrived today from my ever-steady dealer/friend, Dave Kahn. I hate to let out a little secret...though a lot of you know this, but ebay seller "busthalfnut" and "estatecoinsales" (the latter, an unfortunate name IMO) is a go-to guy on busties. Dave offers more than just the bust series and it's hard to go wrong. He has a great eye, fully describes his coins, takes very decent pictures, offers full refunds, and is a straight shooter. Check out his goods.

This first CBH is an 1811/10 overdate, Overton variety 101. The punctuated date, 18.11, is a popular variety. This one is an early die state with a bold die dot, and actually shows visible remnants of the 0 overdate. Not especially scarce (R1); graded PCGS AU53.

The second is also from Dave, an O.106 R3. All have weak/incomplete milling and stars drawn to the edge. I bought this for its very pretty patina and exceptional luster. Yes, it actually is that color! PCGS graded AU53.

The third I bought raw at a show. O.110, R1. I was confident it would grade cleanly as it shows no cleaning hairlines or damage, just ordinary circulation marks. Sure, it was dipped at some point like most coins from its era. But that is often forgiven. Not this time. PCGS body-bagged it for cleaning. Grr. Someday I'll try again, I think.
    Lance.

P.S. I also bought this Lincoln from Dave. It was raw and sold for ~$100. PCGS graded it MS65BN. I think it would likely earn a premium for its handsome colors, good strike and clean surfaces.

  3. As always, a handsome showing of CBH's. Not sure why PCGS didn't like the O.110. That 1915 almost looks like a matte proof. Which you have to take with a grain of salt since I know nothing of the series. Looks like a very nice cent.

Agree he's been on my favorite sellers list for a long time. Just wish I could win more of his items but guess I'm bidding against the world usually.
Nice pickups for the Red Book set.

Stunning Lance. I Really like the 106 and it's nice die crack on the reverse. :)

Yes I've gotten some of the nicest coins in my collection from busthalfnut. Rick is always a pleasure to deal with.

    Those are some beauties.

1811 is one of my favorite dates, along with the 1813.

Sorry, but my pictures are no where near as good as yours.

I do have about 5 other Overton varieties, if you'd like to see them.

Sorry, I did to mean to hijack this thread, but you say Busties, and I can't resist posting.

Ah...one of the founders of the Contemporary Counterfeit CBH Club, along with Dave. http://busthalf.com

I've never bought from Rick but I hear he knows a little about CBH's. LOL.

Great to see some more 1811's, Treashunt. I like them!
