Walking in the parking lot today and number 3 (3 of 5 kids) found a dime. It is quite unusual, in that it looks like it got half way through the minting process. Both sides are struck, bot the edge around the dime is not trimmed and serated like all good Roosevelt dimes should be. Is this rare? Is it worth anything, or must just an oddity. Thank you for your time and consideration. She will be very interested to know about her "special" dime.
We'd love to see a picture of it. It is going to be nessacary for us to see a picture to determine exactly what you have stumbled across.
its a spooned or dryer coin, a coin that tumbled a long time in a clothes dryer, and made the edges thicker on the coin.
Thank you very much. My daughter may be a little disappointed, but I can tell her a good story to go along with it. Have a Great Day and thanks for indulging my daughter and myself.
