    So... I had decided to return the coins and was in talks with the seller about shipping information, etc...

    I get a message from him asking if I would like to keep the coins, how much would I be willing to pay. IE: He would refund me a certain amount and I could keep the coins.

    I am not sure whether to be happy or worried at the proposition. At a certain price, it could be a decent deal. However I don't want to offend the seller with the amount I would "truly" be comfortable with. Anyone have advice?

    Thanks!

    Which coin? If it is the MS63, go look up recent auction prices on Heritage and use your good conscious.

    It is ALL of the coins in the ebay auction. Link should be on the first page. It is the set of 32 (i think) morgans. On my phone at the moment.

    I went ahead and made a spreadsheet with my estimations of grade. It is entirely possible that I over-graded some of them (the 60-63 range is hard, lots of marks). Anyways... Here it is;

    I basically used the provided MS64 as a comparison as well as PCGS photograde. I really don't know how much the cleaned coins effect the value. Also, I could have missed cleaned coins if they used a different method than "whizzing". I would have to end up getting these dirt cheap for me to feel good about it, maybe half of the estimated worth. Don't think it will happen but who knows.

    Didn't like my offer so the coins are going back finally. Have a feeling I will be happier with that decision. Thanks for everyone's input in the thread!

    If you have a headache over the coins now, that headache will only get bigger if you keep them. Sending them back was the right move, always aim to get problem free coins. If you must get them graded get them from the top two TPGs.

    I think the hairlines you're seeing as cleaning are just bag marks from the coin bouncing off of other coins in the mint bags a long time ago.
    Good decision sending them back though.
