Hi I don't know anything about mint errors and I was wondering if someone can help me out here? You see I have a 1988 P Dime that is bent in a couple of places and if I lay another dime on top of it but off center it matches the bent area of the other dime. Here a few images of the dime it's on the left of a normal dime. What kind of value could it possibly have if any besides 10 cents? Thanks in advance...

Your coin is not an error. It is damaged. Looks like someone used it as a screwdriver. It is worth 10 cents. I would spend it if I were you.

That coin got beat up. Probably can't even use it in a vending machine. Best bet is to spend it at the gas station or Micky D's.

Thank you for that information, I wonder if it would've been worth more if they tried to use it as a Philips screwdriver instead of a Flathead screwdriver... lol lol

It's known in collecting as PMD=Post Mint Damage.

Might be one I once used for a screwdriver. :)

    Unfortunately, no.

Now, if it had been used as a Torx bit....
