There's always more than one way to skin a cat.
    Inventive, to say the least.

eBay is for items that are for sale, not for public announcements about stolen items or post office injustice. Sorry for this seller's trouble, but this listing is inappropriate and should be removed, IMHO. There are forums like CT for this, also his message will be indexed much better in Google if he posts on forums instead of eBay.

Whats next, a lot where someone rants about being dumped by his girlfriend?

Wow, someone woke on the wrong side of the bed :dead-horse:. I don't mind helping a fellow collector who was SMART enough to use eBay as a means to spread the word of a stolen coin.

    Thanks for sharing Siggi.

I'm afraid I agree. eBay is not the place for this, although a lot of sympathy is felt for this guy. Hope he finds it.

Lol the Geezer is always quick on the draw.

The silly thing is how does he know it was even shipped in the first place? It sounds more likely to me that the package never had the coin to begin with.

    Has been done before.

Ebay agrees that it was inappropriate, it's gone.

I always wished TPG could have helped in these circumstances. My idea was for the TPG to keep electronic track of every coin it has seen, and if an owner had it stolen the TPG would not certify it if the crooks were smart enough to crack it out to sell.

OTOH, the next step in this logic would have been that thieves would simply melt all stolen coins.

I do commisurate with the Ebay poster, but agree it was not the right place for it. Hopefully he could come to CT and post such an announcement. :)

^ Yeap most often any stolen coin gets melted by underground smelters who often pay less than half melt price to these guys. That is the bad part since it is numi coin even if the thief is caught and all the $$ recovered (often the case) you will never get back the book value of the coins .
