    Rick calls it the S-16. The bases 587 are visible twice among the feathers.
    They once called one of the marks a cud. It was delisted as a variety.
    Larry Steve discovered the misplaced digits. Cool coin.
    I actually have two or three of these I picked off of Ebay years ago.

    I don't see it. All I see is beaks and feathers. What kind of digits? 1,2,3?

    It's never made sense to me how the digits could end up in such odd places on the obverse. I've always thought they were more like die cracks, rather than misplaced date digits.

    There is an image in Ricks book that helps but I can't seem to find that same image online.
