It's really what you like. You can pick up almost any kind for $10.00 each, but of course, older rarer ones will come in a lower grade at such a price.

Personally, I'd say some of the Barber Dimes or Quarters are cool. Buffalo and Liberty Nickels are cool. We have avid Indian Head collectors. But I'd say, just browse all the denominations, see which one appeals to you, then narrow it down to the ones you like best and fit the budget.

working back, you would like, a Lincoln cent, an Indian head cent, a coin of the capped bust series, a coin of the seated liberty series, a coin of the Barber series, a Morgan dollar, a Walking Liberty half, a standing Liberty quarter, a Mercury dime, and a Buffalo nickel.

I'd have to say, if you can get a Morgan at $10.00, it's either fake or severely damaged since the silver alone in them are worth around $24 currently.

Barber dime, seated something, capped something, buffalo nickle, IHC, beat up flying eagle, mercury dime, 1909 VDB cent, SMS set, Brown Ike.

Still looking for a good brown Ike and good SMS set.

  10. It won't let me like times a billion. :(

I have a soft spot for those. First collectable coin I ever bought

  12. For 10$ each, you could own a nice G-VG Barber 25c, a very nice Standing Liberty 25c and a Washington 25c. Also, you could own a barber dime, Mercury dime, and a nice Roosevelt dime.

Yes, you will have to save up a couple of those sawbucks to get a Morgan or some of the others.

May I suggest you raise the value of 10 to 30. At 10 bucks you won't get much, but at 30 you can at least get some common silver dollars. And sometimes even get lucky on older coins.

In my town, even 4 dollars will go a good way. 100 wheats, a roll of dateless buffs, 10 dated buffs, 1 or 2 IHCs, certain mint sets, capped bust dime with a buck left over, 10 V nickles, you get the picture.

Only if by severely damaged, you mean more than half of it is gone :) The days of ten dollar silver dollars are gone.
My suggestion to the op is to focus on cents, nickels and dimes. You can get some pretty nice Mercury dimes for around 10 bucks. That would be my suggestion.
