If you can help me grade and determine value. I was thinking of saving this coin from its demise. The seller has it in a sandwich bag clinking around with other junk coins.
I'm not sure if it's me or if anyone thinks this but looking at those pictures, something just seems odd about that coin, especially the reverse. Do you have access to weigh and inspect the coin? My mind is telling me a possible counterfeit.
It might be, I'm no guru with these dollars but like I said, something just doesn't look right with that coin. I'd say, get it weighed and check it out before determining the grade of it. No use determining grade if it's fake, because then it's worthless.
Although the reverse does look odd, I don't think I would say it is counterfeit. It's better to be safe though, so you should still weight it. I think it may have been impaired in some way though, possibly cleaned.
I dont know what you guys are talking about, why do you think its fake? I see nothing wrong with the coin to point towards a fake.
Aside from the weight, throw a magnet up on it to see if it sticks. It does appear to have the makings of a counterfeit medal appearance.
