Glory on the obverse or reverse of a coin is anything that gives the appearance of luminosity. It can be an array of stars, a setting or rising sun with rays (like the Chinese 1932 Junk Dollars), the rays off Liberty's crown (like the United States Peace Dollars), the rays on our shield nickels, or the rays around the cap on some Mexican coins. Well Clinker I gotta tell ya, that's a new one for me. But it makes perfect sense :thumb: Now here's one for you - what US coins have a dolphin on them ?
A dolphin eh... Ah.... I knew that one so I won't spoil it.And something else about them are unique among American coinage.
Dolphin Coin Answer If by US you mean United States of America, I am stumped. You got me there! Clinker
Few others ever know the answer unless they search it out. The answer is the 1915 Pan Pac $1 gold and the 1915 Pan Pac $50 gold (octagonal only) commems.
It's the only issued $50 gold piece and the only octagonal coin issued in the US. An interesting coin to say the least.
ehh, the california issues are tokens, not US coins and the modern bullion doesn't count, IMO, lol. either that or I can just admit I was wrong, now where is Roy's foot-in-mouth emoticon...
