I have a roll of 1986 ASE,s that I bought in 1986, have never opened them. Think there would be a possability that some would grade out at NGC? Thanks Jim
All will....Thats is what grading is assigning a grade to then on what conditions it is. Now whether they grade high enough to make grading worth while is why you should look at them before submitting.
Gonna cost you a boatload o' money Bender, and unless those babies come back '70's you're out a boatload o' money. Most of these things strike up in the '67-'69 range to begin with. Not sayin' you can't hit a home run with this but the odds are against it.
My guess is they'll all grade. I'd give them a good hard look before I sent in anything I didn't feel had a shot at 70. Lance.
Well thanks for the rplies, but when I look at them can I use a regular magnifying glass? I have one around 3" across, Thanks, Jim
Depends how good your eyes are. I can see the smallest of mintmarks with the naked eye, while some people need a 30x loupe. Personally id prefer to have a 30x loupe just to go over every little bit of the coin and you can get a 30x loupe in a case for a buck off ebay.
Heck, a 7x loupe or a 3x magnifier will service you well enough. Most times you just use the naked eye to see if anything seems out of the ordinary. Then grab the magnifier to take a closer look. At least, that's what I do......
With green on this one. Plus get the right lighting when you look at them. When you start getting to 15x it shows flaws on coins you would normally not see. I only use that one when I am trying to confirm a variety or something. Other than that it is 5x or 10x.
