broke my single day dime record today (previously 134). Someone died and their son dropped off a bunch of his dimes at this bank. Too bad he didn't drop off halves. Will post totals later...

ccit....you have killer dime finds. Can't wait to see your total.

I found 10 BWR of halves today and it produced 2 40%ers.

    2 boxes halves, 1/40%, 1978S, 2000S, and a 1976S. I accidentally re-released the 1976S back into circulation. 1 box of dimes 1 1952. 1 box of nickels 1 war, 1936 Buffalo. I am getting 2 boxes of halves tomorrow.

Box of halves: 5 40%ers, a '72 S proof, and a nasty 2005 P. Kept the silver, sent back the other two.

Called a branch of my personal bank in the small town 20 miles down the road from my small town to see if they had any halves. The teller went to check and when she came back she said she had $470 in halves, I assumed at that point it was either $470 of a box of $500 someone didn't get most of, or $470 of a box that had been picked up and dumped back, but I went and got it anyway. The rolls were in fact CWR and a lot of them looked pretty old and had tape on them so I got kind of excited. The teller says to me "what do you do with these?" I say, "I collect certain ones, especially the ones that don't have Kennedy on them because they are old and I like them" she says to me "well I bought a couple of rolls of these when they were first dropped off because you know some of them have silver in them? like the ones from 1965 to 1969, and I found a couple of those years in the few rolls I bought so maybe you will too!" At that point I smile at her and reply, "You don't say?!" Sure enough I brought them home and hit my personal jackpot of 40%ers. I would much prefer Franklins or Walkers, but 51 40%ers is a pretty good day in my book especially after the 12 40%ers I found yesterday making this week hot. My April is looking pretty good so far!

This picture is in order by year with the 65's being the top row. It always interests me to see the distribution of years.

Searched 1 more Loomis box of halves today. 1 x40% ender. Im glad it was on the end cuz a lot of copper was showing on this beat up 1969 coin, I wondered to myself how many times this coin was overlooked. Searched 2 boxes of dimes to be skunked again. Luckily i pulled 3 dimes out of my wifes work. She closes at albertsons so the manager lets me scour their automatic change dispensers for silver. Unfortunatly they get all their coin from the damn skunky boxes i get anyway. I will keep plugging along thoug cuz the silver is just so purdy. The closing manager did tell me she gets lots of half dollars when people buy ciggerettes at customer service and its more paperwork for her to fill out so my wife offered to buy them all everynight she closes. hopefully ill get a 157 dime day like whats his face who posted earlier (sorry not trying to be rude) but ill settle for a 20 dime day

well I finally tallied up my dimes from today. the story goes like this: I called up and asked if they had any CWR dimes. They said they did, so I said I was going to come and pick some up. When I get there they had them all out and had been going through them. then I saw there own little pile of about 15 silver dimes on the counter (which the teller said were hers). But then the teller said "these two rolls with the red stripes are full silver rolls and I could have them, so them trifling through them before I got them wasn't too big of a deal to me at that point (though I do think they should be doing more important things than that and be a bit more professional). Don't get me wrong though, I am definitely happy with my find. I took all the other rolls they would give me and just about all of them were labeled with years on them. Mostly mid to late 60s and 70s. Some with '1961,1962,1963,1964' on them. total - 7 nearly solid rolls of silver dimes with a few strays in the other rolls.
Grand total: 354 roosies for the day and one merc (43s)
Most of the roosies were from the 60's with the exception of 7 of them.
Another solid day of dimes. Going back to that bank tomorrow to check in on their quarters.

I picked up 2 boxes of halves and 1 of dimes. I opened 7 rolls of halves before class and found 2/40% so far. Hopefully they are not the only ones in the box.

I went to a different dump bank today and was shorted 9 dollars. I would have no problem is the 9 dollars was in Rosie's or something

Box of dimes - Back to normal - Skunk
Dime avg 1.14 per box this year
They are just not worth it anymore since I get shorted when dumping them and tying up my money

wrapped up some coin @ the bank today.

    $1,000 in quarters - one 1944
$500 in dimes - four silver roosies (3x1964, one 1948)

five pieces of silver out of 9,000 coins searched, or only 0.06% silvers. seems kinda weak to me. thoughts?

I would be happy with those results, they are typical or better than what I find in boxed coin.

that's about what i can normally expect for dimes, honestly. the quarters seem to come in sets of three or four good bags, followed sometimes by up to a dozen bags of nothing. i'm by no means unhappy with my day, but when i put it into a percentage, it seems pretty low. i'm just curious if anyone else keeps score, so to speak, of their find rates.

Yesterday, I joined the Walker Club with my very first. Went back for the rest of the halves box today. Now I get to officially join the Franklin club with my first!

I promise, the newbie stuff will wear off soon - but humor me...I'm a teeny bit tickled! ;)
