1968 s lincoln overdate? or machine doubling?

    I'm going to say MD, the doubling looks flat, but I'd wait for others input on this.

    Whew~! I hate to say it but I think thats a convenient die gouge there near the 6. It just doesn't have the curve of the typical 6 for a 1968 Lincoln.

    Couple that with some die deterioration doubling and the coin does look like a legitimate overdate. I do not think it is though.

    Definately MD and looks like the 6 took a hit and ended up in the field...

    It looks like a die gouge to me. If it had been a scratch, you would think you would see some damage to the "6" since it is right up against it.

    thank you for everyones input. what makes it different than the 1960 d? would anyone say it would be worth sending in? just to be 100 percent sure?

    I think there's just machine doubling there at the top of the six and it took a hit also.
    Not worth sending it in IMO.
