I hear people walking up to there banks and they will order from the mint. I have called 6 banks and they say call the mint or we can't order a specific date. It took me an hour to end up calling the Winnipeg mint and asking to order they were unavailable so left a message. This may not be the end of it.
You may have extra problems getting them since they announced this will be the last year for the cent. That could result in a lot of hoarding of the 2012's. It could make them hard to get in the short term, but it will mean that they will never be valuable.
