I have to say that today has been one of the neater days I have had as a coin dealer. I bought a very large coin collection today that included these notes along with some other really nice coins and notes I will post later. I thought they were neat and especially how after all these years the paper is still so deeply embossed. Really a neat lot. I thought it was cool and wanted to share. Enjoy!
Very cool. They look to be in pretty good shape. I've seen consecutive before, but only three.......to have 6 is very nice.
Matt, You sure have had some nice things to share lately, this isn't the first you've shared of Colonial notes either, but this was a nice surprise to see consecutive notes. I tend to only think of consecutive notes in more modern collected Series, when I shouldn't limit the idea like that. I feel like its not so much the norm that Colonial consecutive notes come up and I've spent a fair amount of time viewing Colonial lots on Heritage without spotting many more than 2-3 like Steve said. Thanks for sharing these.
I'm thinking about certifying the lot of them... In a case like this do you guys think it might be beneficial? I know a lot of the colonial guys don't like certified notes... but this being a special lot??? waddaya think?
Yes, I would have them certified. They deserve to be protected. Just because they survived this long doesn't mean they always will without some help.
Seeing things like what you've posted in your two threads makes me want to get back in the collectibles business, Matt. I loved the excitement you must be feeling when someone walks in the door with stuff like this!
Definitely get these beauties certified. From watching Heritage's colonial notes lately I've noticed that the slabbed ones are selling for much more than raw notes. Dang, wish I could get lucky like that when purchasing notes!
When I first started to get serious about coin collecting I saw a bunch of these, that are identical to yours for 25 cents each..makes wish I bought them
Really like those notes! It's amazing to me how well kept some of these are after all this time. Great idea to have them certified but most importantly protected for future generations.
