Can you ID this 1800's Portuguese coin?

    Can anyone help me to positively ID this 1800's Portuguese coin? Unfortunately, the Reverse is terribly worn, but hpefulyy enough remains to positively ID this coin. It is copper and 30mm in diameter.

    It looks similar this. But your coin, probably, was minted for an appeal in Portugal, not in Azores. Pay attention: your coin has the legend on the reverse, my coin hasn't such legend.

    LotsofCoppers, I think you may have nailed it. The person I obtained this from has a family tree which goes back to the Azores. So, I bet you are correct. Thanks a lot!
