A dealer in Guadalajara offered to sell me his entire Mexico error coin collection. It was full of really good coins (much like my personal collection) except that all the coins were from Mexico. He would not sell me a portion of the collection or even one coin. He would only sell the entire collection intact. This was a little over a week ago. I hadn’t yet won Mega Lottery so I couldn’t afford it . I mentioned (in my very bad Spanish) that I really appreciated the opportunity to look at all of his Mexico collection and that I should at least buy something from him as a souvenir. I had already asked him about every item on my want list & we hadn’t come-up with anything. He GAVE me this coin as a souvenir. I physically tried to hand him the price on the holder & he wouldn’t let me buy it. He insisted that I take it for free. There are no questions or teachings in this post. I just wanted to tell you all about a nice coin collector experience. IMO coin collectors are nice sociable folks.
The date is 1958. You can see that some of the design is off the planchet so it is an off center strike.
That is indeed a very cool coin. Do you remember the name of the shop? I don't always go to Guadalajara, but when I do I drink Dos......<</facepalm>>
