How do I find out what Halves are worth $$ and which ones are regular. You guys with the halves have me interested in looking myself.

    Thanks - Esky

Most of the Kennedys are not worth much. You could buy a Redbook or just go to PCGS website and click on coin values, then click on the half dollar you are seeking a value for.
PCGS is Professional Coin Grading Service

Do you guys have to order boxes of halves or do they usually have them?

I am going through 100.00 worth of pennies right now, only found a 1944 wheat penny, and a bunch of pre-1970. I also keep all pre 1982, with a seperate roll for the 1982 lg. date, and 1982 small date. I have found alot of 1994, 1995, 1992 MS 65+. I think that someone put these away years ago...

If a bank has any it won't be more than one or two boxes so usually they must be ordered.

Hey, guys, I was offering to GIVE chicken_little a few wheaties if he needed them. Sorry if anyone misinterpreted it as an offer to sell. Just trying to help a fellow Hoosier out!

Dumb question, but where do you guys get your rolls from (specifically)?

For example, do you get them from:
    - YOUR bank?
    - Other banks in town (or any/all of them)?
    - eBay?
    - Magazines/catalogues/other online sites?

    Thanks, just want to know.

I've just recently started coin roll hunting, and in the last 2 weeks, have gone through $80 in pennies and $10 in nickels. I've had fairly good luck with pennies, finding 43 wheats, but no Indian Heads yet, and only 1 keeper from the nickels, a 1948S (fairly low mintage, just over 11M). I only keep nickels if they're silver war nickels or low mintage years, but keep all wheats. I have also found several 40s and 50s Canadians. I'll give nickels another try, and keep going with pennies. I'll probably skip quarters altogether. Anyone have any luck with dimes??

I've been getting mine from local banks, mine and others. Rather than roll them up and return them, I dump them at a Coinstar (Yes, the 8% is better to me then re-rolling them and bringing them back to the bank).

I don't know what it is about 1918, but I've found 4 lincoln wheats this year.

I get all my rolls from several banks in town and I have 2 bank that take unrolled coins. They have counters, no charge either cause I'm a member.
