What should I do with all these Airtite foams?

So I ordered a bunch of airtites with the black rings. Almost all of them has an extra piece of black foam in the middle for me to pop out. Is there anything special I can do with these besides stuffing them in a box? I also have quite a few extra foam rings now since whenever I buy a coin thats in a airtite I tend to use mine instead. Just wondering if I should toss these or is there something else I can use them for?

If you have hardwood floors in your dining room, you can hot glue them to the bottom of your chairs so they don't scratch the floor :D

I save them. Sometimes I cut them smaller for oddly-sized variations; kind of a mix and match with air-tites and foam...
Other times, I play fetch with the cat :)

I threw mine out, i prefer the white rings because the black can leave a residuse on the rim over time

I would but I spend all my money on coins so I can't afford chairs

    or hot glue. :D

I have a box of them too. When a storm loosened a few shingles on my garage roof, I used them as washers under the nails when I did a quick repair job. No leaks so far!

HAHAHAHAHA....I've been working on this mystery for years. I eventually tossed all of mine after I couldn't figure out a good use for them.

I like the hardwood floor protector and the shingle washer ideas. You've got to love Yankee ingenuity!

Recycle them, don't just trash them.

Yankee? At least one of their profiles say they're from Washington State. ;)

Well, if you have kids, they could be a very useful under structure for a (partially) paper machea volcano. You could even put a nice little cylinder formed by the inside circles in the middle to hold the "fuel" in there. You could glue some into a Frisbee.

The word after paper is meant to be pronounced (ma-sh-ay) I cannot spell, not even well enough for spellcheck to guess!

But you could consult a web search and in less than five seconds have the correct spelling, or utilize a digital dictionary online or via some other software in quick order, to post the correct spelling rather than dismiss the effort. Papier-mâché with the correct French accent marks or the English version Paper Mache both work.

Ironically, that is exactly how I spelled it the first time! how dare spell check mislead me...

Then you use them to create a game for those kids ;)

Give the kids a small plastic or wooden bowl and the disks. Place the bowl on the living room floor. Place the kids 6 to 8 feet back from the bowl and give them the disks. The object is to see who can frisbee the most disks into the bowl.

Safe, harmless, can't hurt or break anything. And easy to pick up afterwards. Best of all, it keeps the kids busy ;)

Well then you get a stick and beat the kids of course :D

Kids are kids, doesn't much matter what ya do or what you give them, they ARE going to be kids.

Funny thing about kids though, you can buy them an expensive toy, wrap it up in a big box. And I'll bet ya that sooner rather than later the kids will be playing with the box, while the toy sits on the floor ;)

That's the idea here. You take something that is junk, garbage. But instead of throwing it away you make a new toy for your kids, and one that they will play with - for nothing, no cost.

edit - and who knows, it may even spark some small interest in coins if you explain to them where these things came from ;)

I can see it now. When I am in my 30's-40's my kid asks, "Daddy, will you please buy more coins" I say, "Well son, I'm glad your taking an interest, any type coin you really like?" They reply, "I don't want a coin, I want the the black smushy stuff they come in!" downheartedly reply, "Okay, but go tell your mother you want me to go to a coin shop."

Ah, and 20-30 years from now, I will be looking at this as the good ole days! maybe, anyway

Making stuff for the kids sounds like a good idea. Plus it gives us the chance to tell the Mrs. that we're going to the coin shop to buy something for the kids. :D
