If it were me I'd have to spend at least a little time checking. Don't get your hopes up, but yeah, I'd check them.

I believe that only 2 have been found. You could be #3. !!!!!!

Articles say the last one was sold for $18,000 ... so is it worth to check ??? 1982DSMCu.jpg

A step might be to drop them individually on a metal plate and not bother with any that give a dull thud (Zincoln) rather than a nice ring.

What goes around comes around, it could be there just waiting to be found. Hindsight is 20/20... Good luck!

If you are under 40, its just time.....if you are older, time is too valuable to waste on such a low , low chance. IMO, Jim

Where did the bucket come from? It seems odd that they're all 1982-D and copper. If you separated them yourself that's one thing, but if you bought the bucket somewhere, I would assume they've already been searched.

Very small probability; however, I couldn't sleep at night unless I searched every last coin. I've looked for one for decades, it's like a holy grail for us searchers.

I am lucky enough to have two of them. Got them from a very honest dealer in China. Only $19.99 each.
