Is this a 1846 N-13 Large Cent?

    I am hopeing that the picture's come out good enought for someone to tell me if this 1846 is a N-13 Variety or another one! It is a Tall Date Curl is over inner curve of 8 a line crosses center of one but only show's on leftside of the one, 1 touches bust. thanks to anyone that can help! i only have a 1940's copy of United states Copper Cents Newcomb!

    I would really have to see this coin in hand. I think you have the obv identified correctly it is the obv of N-13. But that obv is used with two other reverses that aren't listed in Newcomb (N-23 and N-25). I strongly believe it is not N-13. From what I see I am leaning toward N-23. If I am right and it isn't N-13 that is good for you. N-13 is an R-3+ coin, N-23 and N-25 are R-6-.

    The big diagnostic for N23 is a spike down to the right through the T in United. I agree it does not look like an N25, which would have a point up from the wreath under M in AMERICA, and in later states would have crumbling on the dentils below the point of the wreath.

    I agree it looks like the 13/23/25 obverse, but it's tough to attribute these by picture, especially in lower grade. The numbers are in favor of it being an N13, but I would get it checked out if you want to sell it as the N23 carries a hefty premium.
