Are the values for 57 & 58 Flying Eagle cents rising?Anyone watching out there? Grades between VF - AU... Thanks...BTW, let’s seesome of the beautiful examples you all have in your collection!
THAT is a stunning coin I have not seen much of a change in price over the last 10 years... but that doesn't take away from it being my most favorite type of coin at all -C.J.
Fantastic variety! While not really a fan of this type, I am of the one it was clashed with and always enjoy seeing these. Very nice.
Here are mine from my type set. Nice circulated examples with the 1858 reverse showing some small cuds that give it character.
My one 57. It is a MS 64 with Eagle Eye. I was going for one with foil like mint luster at the time, but those are usually 65's and have a big price jump. I landed on this one with dusty rose like toning and over time I appreciate it more and more. I feel it has character beyond a run of the mill 64. JMO Matt
Yes! I can proudly participate in this one: Same coin, same photos, different sizes. wonder how this will work out with sizing. Edit: The second shows up bigger on the pop-up on this page, but no change in the different tab pop-up
1858 Large Letter NGC MS 64 Snow-8 with Photo Seal. The doubling shows mostly along the word UNITED and the eagle's eye. According to Rick Snow, as of now, this is the finest known example of the variety. I like this coins strike on the reverse as well as the cotton leaves show all the veins, which I like, as they are usually soft from what I have seen. I still need to buy a 1858 small letter sometime after other more important goals are met. Matt
