    Hi Gang,

    I wanted to share my newest purchase. This is a 1853 Large Cent. Not bad condition for 159 year old coin.

    Very attractive coin except for the little bit of stuff just above the 3 and to the left of the 8. Could this be improved with some acetone? I know some people are really gun-shy about using acetone on copper, but would it be worth a try in this case?

    Last time I checked, xylene is recommended for copper, or olive oil. (Don't take this for fact)
