Well, I feel totally screwed. Went through that bag of quarters, did find a 1952 silver, and a couple of bucks in Canadian. But when I tdumped, I was $75.00 short. No luck talking to the bank where I got coins from. This sucks big time.

    Wow, that's terrible sam.b. I can understand a couple bucks, but $75? Even if that's a $1000 bag that's a 7.5% loss!

Maybe the counter you used to dump was off?

I doubt it. I've dumped there in the past, its one of my regular dump banks, it was always right on, granted its my first experience with quarters. Oh well. Win some, loose some.

Might be the price of gas. People digging around for change to fill up the tank. Large dollar coins seem to be circulating a lot around here. I have picked up a couple hundred from various banks recently where I could hardly find one in the past.

Silver dimes seem to be back up again as well. My average has gone back up to about 2 per box where just a couple months ago it was well below one.

I'd say it might be a good summer for roll searchers if gas prices stay high.

My 3rd box of Quarters since I started testing out whole boxes... and skunk. I shouldn't be surprised considering my luck on quarter rolls (well, not recently) that I pick up every day. My first box had 2 Washies in the same roll so I feel like quarters are about as skunky as halves, with a few nice finds sprinkled in, only with a much larger pool of coins.

The only reason I even bother with quarters is because they're so easy to dump, I guess.

I thought I'd ask for whole dollar coins today just to take a peek. 8 rolls, nothing but Sacs and Susie Bs. Dropped those quickly and got 2 skunk dime boxes. Bad start!

Picked up three boxes of nickels. Went through two so far. First one gave up a dateless buff, second one was skunk, and heavily marked. Seriously, why would someone bother marking nickels? Got a box left, will keep you posted.

Opened my first box of halves- skunk
Opened a box of dimes- Two Roosies, including a semi-key 1949! Also got a Canada 10 cents, a 5 pence, and a 5 centavos. Pretty cool stuff to find in a box.

well after a downer month of March for dimes I started with a bang for April. $295 CWR yielded one roll that was full of silver and two other rolls that produced 50, total of 99 roosies and one merc(45s). Most of the roosies were 60s but some earlier years but still cant find the last three I need - the 55PDS.
also picked up $200 CWR quarters from same bank and those yield 5 silver washingtons, 4 in one roll :D - 36d,44,2x63d,64d
Think I'm gunna have to go back to that bank and get the rest of the CWR quarters they have.
