I have a $1.00 bill with the serial number L25650035D the 5 in 65 stands out more than the rest. Just wondering why it is like that what happened. Can't get a picture up now but if one is needed I could get one.
It's not uncommon at all to see the results of clogged / over-inked digits. They can even differ by being heavier or lighter than the other digits due to the nature of the inking problem. Photos are always needed to go any further than a generalization of what we imagine you to be describing.
Without pics IMO there was excess ink so it overinked the 6 and maybe (?? need pic) really overinked the 5 could also be an ink smear or damage by someone who traced it with a green marker. Also if the bill is gem or choice crisp or just circulated makes a big difference is value as well as series.
Just an over inked 5. I was hoping that it would be over inked to the point it smeared or distorted but unfortunately it isn't. You have a dollar bill that is worth face value.
Thank you, I just wanted to know what caused it. I might keep it anyway until I can replace it with something better.
