I feel sorry for my wife in the future. At 28yrs old, I have my "man cave" full of stuff that I collect. From coins and paper money, to watches, to my 25,000+ baseball cards/memorabilia, to my 140 books, I am always bringing new stuff home. My father started collecting Case knives about 7 years ago and I decided to help him by learning everything possible about Case. I don't even collect knives, but I can date and value pretty much any Case knife from memory. My father has trouble remembering all of the details (he's getting old!) so he calls me to ask questions when he is looking at knives. I am sure that I will inherit that collection as well eventually.

I am already married (will be 3 years in July). I simply meant that I feel sorry for her as we continue due to the fact that I bring something new home almost daily.

On that note, if anyone is selling knives, watches, 1st editions, or baseball mem., let me know! :D

I'm passionate about unapreichated worn coins, such as worn down Mercs, Morgans, large cents, seated liberty halves all that I find in the junk piles. The other day I got 2 large cent in G to Fine (1819 & 1837) with no srapes or worn down parts in the bad large cent bin for 5 dollars and a 1855 O half with almost all of liberty for 15 dollars. Just because they are a little worn does not mean they are junk. MS coins have never had a chance to see the world and be touched by many of peoples, while worn and circulated coins have see the world, been there bought that, in her pocke, in his pocket. Ciculated coins have done their time and have history behind them, while MS coins have not really fulfulled their deed they were susposed to accomplish. This is while I enjoy collecting not only better shape coins, but worn down coins too. Oh and I am passionate about Barbers and Jeffersons.

Sounds you are a good son for him. I wish my Dad collected just so we would have something in common. I think about the only thing he collects is acres of land and woodworking equipment. I wish I was more into woodworking. Here is to hoping my son grows up a collector. :)

Haha that was awesome. That movie reminded me just how blessed I was to have gotten rid of my x last year. No I didnt kill her with a button... but if a magic button existed and she didnt sign the divorce papers who knows rofl :D.

Not having to support anyone (besides my mom occasionally) and being able to be free as a bird to spend (and even more importantly save) my money however the **** I want is a real pleasure and makes life so much more enjoyable.

    Viva La Button! ;)

Im obsessed with Indian Head Cents, Flying Eagle Cents, and Early Copper. I love them to the point that if some one shows me a 1913 V nickel and a proof cameo IHC, I would ignore the 1913 V Nickel

Thank you for doing that. However, it might be a while because I seem to find and learn of different rare and semi-rare silver art bars that I like as well as finding ones that I was looking for. Later this year, I plan to be in the process of updating my silver art bar "wish list". Since I plan to add some more to my wish list as well as to subtract some from that list, it might be a while until that wish list is updated to my satisfaction. I also plan to look through some of my silver art bar guidebooks to see which ones I might decide to eventually try to find.

No problem, just wanted the offer to be out there. And the offer will stand, so feel free to PM me with any specific bars at any time. Just today I sifted through 83 1oz bars/rounds before getting them ready to sell. I am always more than willing to help out a fellow collector if possible.

That says it all. For a moment, I thought I might be hearing a little coin-envy.:D

I walked into the bank yesterday and asked for JFK halve dollar clads in rolls. (well, I said half dollars please).
The teller said that she did not have any. I then asked about nickels in rolls. She said yes. She asked how many I would like. I asked how many she had? She check her journal and stated $150 face. I told her I would take $100. She pulled them out and went to retrieve a bag. She came back with a nice heavy duty shopping bag like holder in red fabric. I was delighted. As she filled it her boss asked her to lower the bag to save her back. Then the manager asked me why nickels. I said I like them. As the bag filled with 2000 nickels reached me, I was smiling. I then droped the bag lower to get a better grip. I then exclaimed outloud, "Oh I feel so rich." Another customer and the staff had a quick laugh. I made my way to the car. Since I was in the back passenger seat for the long day out, I began searching the rolls. It was fun until I started to get car sick.

With all that said, I guess I am passionate about hoarding nickels and clad halves. I also take great joy in reading my book about California Fractionals. Wheat ear cents are another favorite coin for me to collect. Except for the California Fractionals in my collections, most of the other coins are well circulated.

    Nice thread!
