I would go with the two accented hair proofs.

Maybe, but I think it comes down to personal preference.

    An ultracam PR69/70!

Make sure you get it photo-proofed and secure holdered. Then I would send it to CAC.

The case with coins....one higher grade is better than two lower IMO.

its depends, but I'd say the 67 in this case. which one looks the best?

As a collector I say the one better one since the cost is the same. I personally do that most times but there has been occasion when I've gotten such a good price on the two or three I buy that just so I can sell the others and get enough to cover the cost of the one I kept. It doesn't happen too often and certainly not lately.

If the coins were graded by NGC or PCGS - the 2 accented hair examples would be my choice.

If they were not graded by NGC or PCGS, that could change.

All are NGC. They are spot free and hair line free. The 67 has more defined details.

I would disagree with gboulton a little. IF buying either the 67 or 2 65's will not adversely affect your collecting budget, and IF you can tell the difference between the 67 and 65's, and IF you are collecting a set of higher grade Kennedy's, THEN I would say get the 67.

However, if buying the 67 or 2 65's will affect being able to buy another coin, I would say buy 1 65. If a lot of your other collection is around 65 I would buy a 65.

I am simply saying to make a blanket statement to ALWAYS buy the best grade you can afford may sound great, but can break down upon scrutiny. Sometimes a budget is too tight, or the price break too severe, to want to buy the "best". Some coins I collect an XF might run $500, yet a VF runs $60. CAN I afford a XF? Yeah, but there are literally hundreds of VF's I do not own, so why invest all of that money in one XF when I could get 8 VF's that I do not have? Also, that one XF might look out of place next to all of my VF's.

    Just my opinion.

I think you're right. When it comes to this topic, how could there be a definitive answer? How could numismatists act in one way with 100% certainty as if it is a rule?

In this particular case were are talking about 2 different things. The accented hair Kennedy is an entirely different animal than a normal Proof Kennedy. And quite honestly, Proof 67 Kennedy halves are quite common and easily purchased anytime at inexpensive prices.

That is not true of the accented hair variety. So 2 of them, in 65 is a better buy than 1 regular Proof in 67.

As would I since I already have a PF67CAM but do not have all the DDO/DDR Accented Hair Kennedy's that happen to be out there. I'd buy the two just to be able to "look".

The 65's and 67 are the accented hair varieties. I don't know the pops for NGC for 65's and 67's. Maybe that will be the decider for me. All the coins are quite nice.

Not the way it read based on the way you worded your original post - I misunderstood. Think some others did too.

Based on all 3 being a/h, I'd go with the 67.

I'm not following you...you say you disagree with me, but then wander off on some sort of tangent having very little to do with what I said.

I said to always buy the best you can afford.

You said sometimes you can't afford certain things.

    Um...er...don't buy them then?
