I heard this on the radio yesterday, and have confirmed it today from the U.S.A. Today that Canada is making 2012 the last year they will be producing their "penny." Now my topic for discussion is: when will the U.S. get their head out of their keister and stop with the cent? I know people in this country feel it should not happen, being it has the likes of Abe Lincoln on it and all. But really, we stopped making the 1/2 cent when it had way more purchasing power than the cent has in 2012, not to mention it costs more to produce than it is worth. I say we follow their lead.

Should have stopped in 1982. In my eyes that was the last year of the LMC.---John

Unlike other countries, the U.S. doesn't do things because it makes since. We're only concerned over whether or not a lobbyist benefits.

Exactly! This is the same reason we are still producing the dollar bill.
