I know the photos are bad... but what is your best guess as to the nature of this coins weirdness? Coins that get caught in the fins of a commercial dryer have flattened devices and raised rims exactly as the one that is being listed. Do a search here (at the top of the page) for "dryer coin" and you'll find dozens of examples of all denominations.
