    Team,

I was wondering if there is such a grade as say MS-50 or MS-25 for coins which are still MS but have been beaten up pretty badly due to severe bag marks or rough handling at the mint?

    Thanks

That's a very good question, but sadly I do not have the answer. I do know that for certain coins (like gold), it seems the low MS range (i.e. 60 and 61) convey what you are talking about. This problem is emblematic, I think, of TPGS's who would like to see an expanded MS range, since so much of the nitty-gritty of grading MS coins is constrained within the limits of a 10-point range on a 70-point scale, though the whole 70-point thing has been an issue for more than a few decades...:smile
