My newest acquisition...got it in change at CostCo. Not bad shape, huh? Some die polish lines! Lance.
I just got this TrueView Photo back from PCGS. This is the most attractive toned proof Saca Dollar I have ever seen. Okay, it's the only toned proof Saca Dollar I have ever seen. A beautiful arc of burnt orange and violet graces both sides of this modern deep cameo proof. (As cool as a cucumber that's been in the refrigerator for a week.) This was an NGC PF68 UCAM that crossed to PCGS PR68 DCAM. I never realized how wide the rims were on Saca Dollars, almost reminds me of a Matte Proof Lincoln (they are so wide and flat). By the way they never should have changed the reverse design in 2009. This flying eagle design is absolutely inspired, probably my favorite modern (circulating) coinage design in the past 30 years. I like the way the eagle's wing tips impinge on the field of stars -- it almost looks like the eagle is juggling the stars.
Had two good things happen today: 1) Found out that the potentially expensive gas leak in my car (a 1971 Chevy El Camino) was, in fact, a few older hoses that needed to be replaced (meaning the parts bill will be about $5, which is WAY cheaper than a busted fuel tank...) 2) This beauty came in the mail today: CPG lists this coin as URS-10, meaning there are estimated between 250-500 of them. Does this ring true (Jefferson experts?) In any case...LOVE IT!
Love it. And love the fact that ya didn't blow yourself up in the car. Just replaced a few necessary hoses.......
