Class number nine saw the finishing up of new note designs. Students who completed the assignment placed their names in a U.S. Mint bag for a chance at wonderful prizes. No not the Megamillions drawing that everyone else around here seems to be trying to win but Megatrillions!!! (Well, trillions if we count the Zimbabwe notes.) It was interesting to note (no pun intended, really!) that of the few students who did not complete the assignment no one made excuses. Two of the three chose to complete the assignment even though they knew they would not be entered in the drawing. I also asked the students what was their favorite part about the class. "Payday!" was the top answer followed closely by "looking things up!". This has been a very high energy class. Thank goodness they also seem to be very motivated. I cannot express how thankful I am to all of the donors who have made this experience possible. It always amazes me how excited kids get about collecting and it reminds me of all the reasons I enjoy this hobby.
It's nice to see children properly handling collectible type coin & currency properly. Are these lessons being offered in an elementary school ?
