I was going through my halves today and I came across this interesting 1969-D Kennedy. I noticed that the 69 in the date seem to be struck different compared to the other devices on the coin. Is this normal for the date or is it a possible doubled die obverse?

I'm as new as anybody here but I always wonder, how is a reply like this helpful?

He wanted to know if hsi 1969 d had a strange date. I showed him a pic of another 1969-d. They are both the same.

What you have is more than likely machine doubling which can be quite common of these fifty cent pieces. For whatever reasons, Die Doubling for the Kennedy series is usually most prominent on the motto. More specifically TRUST. I do not recall hearing of die doubling on only the 69 of the date.

Clearer and closer photographs are certainly required for any possible determination.
