I am interested in buying some ancient greek silver coins. i already have an alexander the third drachm and an alexander the first drachm. i have a price range of $100-$200 per coin. I want to get more ancient greek silver coins. im not sure what coin/coins to get so any advice will be appreciated! thanks for any help!
I'd just look on vcoins.com for a while and see what I liked. Enter you price range and type in drachm It'll give you a good idea of whats out there.
If you know you only want drachms, that would work. I would also look at some of the larger dealers as well, like Heritage and CNG. However, there are many other denominations than that. If you are only searching drachms you will miss it. I would say you might be better off to narrow down the areas you are interested in, and if you don't want to, simply scan over Greek listings. Greek is tough, its such a long period and a large amount of issuing authorities. I think its the main market segment that begs a collector to try to narrow down his collecting choices.
