I was wondering if anybody possibly knows any good alternatives to eBay when it comes to selling U.S. Coins, and Paper Money online at auction? I'm looking for a good auction site that generates a lot of traffic, and a good amount of bidders. I have tried bidstart, usacoinbook, and ebid. Is there anymore sites out there that I'm possibly overlooking?
Kiind of new to the scene but growing is Great Collections. But like the two above it is consign your stuff to them not you list online.
Then my suggestion is list them on your local craigslist.com. No fees. Insist on cash only, meet in a public place like a library, coffee shop you're familiar with. No shipping and anyone under 18 must have one of their parents make the deal for them.
Like it or not, ebay is the 800 lb. gorilla of auction sites. No place else can even come close to comparing.
Then you mention in your listings there, for responders to mention something only a local would know, in the subject line so you can just delete the spam. Makes it easier to weed out the bots that way.
http://www.greatcoins.com/ is a growing site ran by Rick Snow of Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cent notoriety. I have bought but not sold there.
