Greetings all happy New Year friend of mine sent me these pictures of an 1888 O Morgan gold dollar. Couldn't find much about it just what it might be worth. All the other ones were silver dollars thank you in advance Screenshot_20230101-104558.png

    It's probably gold plated.

Can’t tell much from those awful pictures. Based on those photos, I would say it is counterfeit. No such thing as a Morgan Gold Dollar.

Being such a common date I doubt it's a counterfeit. It looks like some kind of environmental factor(damage)that caused the gold pinta, still silver is silver. This date was hoarded so it possibly sat in a sulfer envelope for 80 years that caused the appearance.

No sir. No gold Morgans produced by the US mint. There may very well be some privateers that have produced some as novelties, but none from the US mint.

Common for some places to sell plated silver dollars, calling them special for one reason or another, and charging a premium. Worth? Melt as it is a damaged coin at this point.
