Does it make sense to have the coin graded and slabbed? I tend to like them slabbed by NGC. Also Im hoping the have an early release label or something like that. Just never sent in a coin to have it graded always have bought them graded. Not sure if I look at the coin before sending it if I could tell if it was to grade good or not. I am a member because I needed to get some coins re-holdered so theres no problem there. Thanks in advance for any advice, Jim

I would probably say its not worth spending the money to slab an ASE unless you believe that it is a 70 for sure or if you just have money to burn and would enjoy the coin alot more if it was slabbed because in that case whether it makes financial sense or not it is your coin to enjoy and there is no wrong way to do that!

  4. If you buy it from the mint just keep it raw. Chances are it will be a 69 or 70, and most cannot tell the difference anyway. If you absolutely want it slabbed, save yourself the hassle and expense and just buy it from Moderncoinmart or Paradisemint. TC
